I’ve never been there, but I bore witness to La Demonia struggling with three pregnancies, at different times.
There are numerous subreddits about this topic. It’s interesting, lots of women express anxiety about parking in these spaces during their first trimester, because they’re not always showing yet and don’t want to be judged. Some of these women describe feeling more exhausted, more beat-down during their first trimester. Other posters who’ve experienced pregnancy give them grace.
Long story short…pregnant women are far more courteous than old single dudes.
Yes, I probably felt the worst during first trimester. Slightly nauseous most of the time and lightheaded if I stood up too quickly/stood for a while etc…stuff with physiological explanations. For me, I was reluctant to start buying maternity clothes because I recall dh joking about women doing just that when newly pregnant…and thought it was my imagination that stuff felt tight. I hadn’t anticipated the early changes in shape, even without noticeable weight gain (in fact I lost a few pounds due to the nausea around cooking and food)…bit the bullet when I finally couldn’t find safety pins big enough to hold my skirts and trousers together
Here, especially in Home Depot and Lowes parking lots, they have spaces reserved for active duty and veterans. Right up with the handicap spaces. Unless you have a vet plate (or purple heart plate, etc), I don’t know how they would know.
I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a space for pregnant persons somewhere, but it is not common. I can’t even think of where it was…
I give you credit for the toddlers not romping through the parking lots. That is a good reason for upfront parking. Moms are not disabled people, generally speaking. That is meant in a positive way for both groups.
