OT: August 4, 2026

Seventy-six years ago, in 1950,. Ray Bradbury wrote a short science fiction story for Collier’s Magazine titled There Will Come Soft Rains .

It chronicles a day in the life of a smart home, endlessly going about its daily chores on August 4, 2026, even in the absence of its human overlords who have all vanished. Humanity, you see, has wiped itself out, but our smart homes and smart machines continue on without us, ever forward, never ending, not caring that HomoSapiens did not have the intelligence to be … intelligent.

Back in the '60s Ray Bradbury was one of my favorite SciFi authors, specially Fahrenheit 451!
