This is a neat idea. If you are expecting a check, get a photo from USPS but don’t receive the check you will know the same day that it was diverted.

If you get a photo (e.g. from a credit card company) but don’t get the envelope someone may have stolen it to apply for a credit card in your name.

It only takes a couple of minutes to set up.

I tried signing up a couple years ago, got tangled up in their verification process, gave it up…
Not as much need today, but it seemed good at the time…

I’ve had this for years and find it very handy. And sometimes it is fun watching the trail of adventures a package is enjoying on its way to me.

I have it and like the service. It does remind me of how much junk mail I receive. Also how little first class mail survives.

If mail delivery to residential customers was reduced to three days per week, most of us would hardly notice.

I have Informed Delivery and it’s pretty handy. We’ve had it for several years. In addition to letters it let’s the Boss know how many boxes she will receive from her beloved QVC. What would we do without QVC?

Be forewarned that if you think it will help you find missing mail good luck. Informed Delivery basically gives you proof you have something coming and that’s all. It does not insure delivery. Several times we have gone to our local Post Office with a copy of the Informed Delivery notice asking where our mail was. The standard answer is ‘oh, that photo was taken at the main Post Office up at Intercontinental Airport’ and that’s the last we hear of it.

What maddens me is typically there is a photo of something from Scudder, Fidelity or R.W. Baird and we never receive it however we are left to wonder who does see it?

First class mail sometimes gets mixed in w junk mail. If listed did not arrive, it probably got delivered to a neighbor. Maybe went in the trash w their junk mail.

When I get misdelivered mail it usually belongs to a neighbor. I put it in their mailbox. Misdelivery from blocks away is uncommon.
