A federal judge had to pause hearing on the military’s transgender ban because government lawyers hadn’t bothered to read the studies they cited in their legal arguments. The judge was forced to go through the studies point by point and explain to the government lawyers what the studies actually said.

I wonder if these were career Justice Dept lawyers who understood that anything Hegseth might cite as evidence probably wasn’t worth reading.

iirc, current “counselor to the President” Habba was rebuked from the bench for being unprepared. Maybe that is just how the new team rolls?
