OUCH! quite a fall

Nasty. Albeit had to happen.

OUCH, indeed! 6.33% as I look just now Volume up a tad, too, for mid day… Chips, AI costs, still a 320+ target, but definitely a hit today…

The price increases and memory shortages will likely affect my ability or timeline to upgrade my 2019 27" Intel iMac to an M5 Pro Mac mini with an external monitor.

That said, while I stopped being an AAPL cheerleader some time ago (though never really negative on Apple), I think the current decline is or will be a buying opportunity, in preparation for more long term growth with Ternus as CEO and Cook staying on as executive chairman.

Well, AAPL did stay down over the 6%, but came up a little after hours, but what I see is a very high volume, normally about 47K, today went to 86K, so a lot of interest, maybe that ‘Buy Opportunity’ is tempting some…

It will be an interesting ride with the upper management changes, a younger face, teamwork, should be fun…

Here’s an article showing all the hikes…

That was some heavy volume buying yesterday!!! Ok, unless something dramatic happens and it usually does, see you all by Christmas to see where we are.

Thoughts go out to the people in Venezuela, from the devastation I have seen, looks like 10’s of thousands have perished and don’t think we will ever know their numbers. Went there in the 80’s and never forget the very hot women and how both sexes dressed up to the nines to go clubbing and the action never got going until the wee hours.

My personal rule is never to buy or sell on big movements but instead wait to see how things shake out.

Unfortunately, waiting also often means losing out on buying opportunities, if AAPL keeps going up, or losing even more money, if AAPL keeps falling.

LTBH for me. I’m bad at timing trades.

I have been a long time holder of Apple and have never sold a share. I do try to be disciplined about adding to it over the years. Sometimes, it take a couple of years for the price to come in. I’ve used as a benchmark annual EPS growth of 10-12% and then a multiple of 25-30+ to gauge a possible share price 5 years out. I then discount that back at 15% to get a rough price to pay today. April of 2025 was the last opportunity for me as it barely tipped into that range. However, those tranches alone are up 70% in a little over a year. One note, I realize EPS may not grow at that rate organically but may when buybacks are factored in. I’ve become more comfortable with paying up for Apple. But like I said, I don’t sell and have no plans to in the near future.

After AAPL’s big fall last Thursday (-$18.02), the stock has rebounded. It is now $0.26 above where it closed on Wednesday before the drop. :man_shrugging:

Well, here we go again today, UP ~13, ~4% as I write this, the roller coaster continues… Haven’t had time to see why, but about 9:30 Amit began the jump…
