There is a very effective apparatus of tv and print media and think tanks… that hammer against redistribution… they’ve managed to convince people it’s unamerican, which isn’t historically the case… and then there’s also racism.

It is all about the spin. “Redistribution” down the income scale is spun as “communism”. “Redistribution” up the income scale is never linked to “the R word”. It’s “job creation”.

It’s only noxious when it’s taking money from the wealthy and powerful. When it directs money their way, it’s called Trickle Down Economics. When it redistributes Native American Lands, it’s called Manifest Destiny.
We need better marketing.
