Q3 2025 What happens now?

New quarter. So far the latest quarter has been about budget deliberations and tariff developments (Vietnam announced a deal with US).
07/01
No action

07/02

  • Restarted PLTR (taxable ac)
  • Add to TRMD (taxable ac)
  • On sell-off, nibbled on BRK/B (Roth ac)
  • New idea. Roth ac nibble on NBIS (smaller rival to CRWV)

Interesting developments on the tech side. NVDA has been hitting new highs, and that has helped other AI-related names. One of my tech materials names i.e. GSM suddenly had a very nice bounce. No material news … oh wait! The company got added to Russell Indices. Really nice bounce - might take some gains if it moves a little higher.

One trade on 07/03 - Added to my NAT stake.

07/07
Per the subject title, … I keep going.

  • On the pull-back, trading ac nibble on ENTG
  • Missed out on the AI data center pick, CRWV, when it IPO’d and went on a great run. Backdoor way of getting there - buy its acquisition target i.e. CORZ. Latter agreed to be acquired by CRWV
  • Another NBIS nibble in Roth ac
  • Another LULU nibble in Roth ac

Nice bounce from FRO today.

07/08 - 07/10
Light trading

  • 2nd CORZ nibble in taxable ac
  • Monetized a portion of GSM in Roth ac
  • Another CORZ nibble (first one in Roth ac)
  • Another FRO nibble in Roth ac

07/11
For some reason, the subject line of this thread came up more today. I though of the renewed tariff focus, especially on Brazil, and two of my three Brazil-related ideas - NU & ABEV. The latter is likely more impacted by the tariffs debate. But given Canada is a target too, maybe there’s a swap of Brazilian beer from US beer in Canada.

One that got away - New Egg (NEGG). Had considered nibbling in the low teens. Shares have just rocketed in the last few weeks.

Two minor moves on the day

  • NBIS nibble in Roth ac
  • FLNG nibble in taxable ac

07/14 - 07/18
Somewhat light trading this week

  • New idea nibble, NEGG (taxable ac)
  • Added to INSW (taxable ac)
  • More CORZ in Roth ac
  • MLGO reverse-split this week. Not chasing

07/19
Did not get a chance to properly look at the port until the weekend. Among the additional developments

  • NVDA overtook BRK-B as my top individual holding. Some of NVDA’s recent rise is probably due to the Trump Administration changing its stance on chip exports. But, overall, I do like how NVDA is doing a few things to assist the “AI infrastructure” entities i.e. other companies involved with AI.
  • Shipping basket names pulled back this week. I did want to build up my shipping basket a little more. I guess, some opportunity to nibble?
  • Developments with VERI. Had not been aware of the dilution at the end of June 2025. Might have to dig into more, but it seems somewhere in the 10 - 20% range. However, shares have bounced nicely this past week, up about 50%

07/21
Will I regret either of today’s sell transactions?

  • Trimmed GSM in Roth ac
  • Trimmed VSH in taxable ac
  • A VERI nice bounce
  • More SSTK in taxable ac
  • More FLNG in Roth ac
The tariffs uncertainty was behind both sale transactions

07/22
Pi-reciprocal day. On the bounce, GSM made an exit.

  • GSM in taxable ac - sold. Then, remainder of GSM in Roth ac - sold.
  • Another NEGG nibble in taxable ac
  • More FRO in Roth ac
  • More NVDY in Roth ac

07/23 - 07/25
Light trading to finish the week

  • More VERI (taxable ac)
  • More LULU (taxable ac)
  • Monetized HIMS (taxable ac)
  • More CORZ (taxable ac)
  • COHR bumped HIMS from Top 10

7/28 - 7/30

  • ABEV nibble in taxable ac
  • MLGO plunge, trimmed stake
  • On bounce, opted to monetize some HIMS
  • TGT nibble in taxable ac
  • More VERI in Roth ac

Very nice bounce from NEGG yesterday. Today, it gave some of it back. Position still positive

07/31 - 08/01
Somewhat ugly 2-day end to what had been a rising tide for the port. Roth ac still positive – YTD 2 - 3%, taxable side around 1%. Probably too much cash. But, I’m glad I did selective monetization. GSM has now dipped below $4. Nasty whack for some tech names - AMAT, ENTG, QCOM

  • More BWLP in taxable ac
  • More NEGG in taxable ac

08/07

There was some trading earlier in the week. However, today, is when I went a little nuts, in terms, of being active. Percentage wise, it was maybe 1 - 1.5% of additions, and one monetization.

  • Start with the monetization. Two months ago, had nibbled on a familiar name - Amtech (ASYS). Today, shares bounce over 13% on good quarterly results. Over 25% during a two month holding period - I will take it. I have shipping losses that offset the gains.
  • More QCOM (taxable ac)
  • Good news from Golar LNG (GLNG) flies under-the-radar. The FID decision on the company’s larger FLNG asset has been reached. More GLNG in Roth ac.
  • More GLNG in taxable ac (dividend basket)
  • More GLNG in trading ac
  • More ENTG in trading ac
  • More BRK-B in Roth ac
  • More CAMT in Roth ac
  • More ENTG in Roth ac
  • More HIMS in Roth ac
  • Restarted HIMS in taxable ac
  • More WU in taxable ac
  • More TRMD in Roth ac

Nice bounce from NBIS & my specialty coffee play - BROS.

A little slippage from some holdings. But, I will take a day like today to deploy some of my excess cash.

All I can say is I am glad NEGG crossed my radar and I took action on the pick. Yes, my position is a small stake. But, it is a risky idea. The company just completed a reverse stock split a few months ago. It first got my attention when it was selling in the low teens. Then a few weeks later, the shares are trading in the $30s. That’s when I went digging. I acknowledge the reverse split, and figured, with all the cash I have in my accounts, … maybe a nibble. When NEGG slipped below $30/sh, the first nibble. Then shares retreated again. I had just monetized on GSM across all accounts, so there was definite cash build up. Okay, another NEGG nibble. Then, after shares took off, and subsequently pulled back, a third NEGG nibble.

Tech is not behaving the same way. ENTG, which announced results at the end of July 2025, got beaten up. One would assume ENTG missed expectations. Nope, rev beat & earnings beat. Decided to add to my now underwater position.

AAPL had pulled back. Then, shares bounce this week.

08/11 - 08/13

Small amount of activity to thru mid-week.

  • More TRMD in taxable ac
  • When it slipped below $4, nibble on GSM
  • Another ENTG nibble (Roth ac)

Whee! … That NEGG can certainly fly  - another really nice bounce today (08/13). Saw this reported item –

https://seekingalpha.com/news/4464650-newegg-commerce-has-an-active-investor-after-vladimir-galkin-crosses-over-the-10-ownership-threshold#source=section%3Asummary|section_asset%3Aall_news|first_level_url%3Asymbol|button%3ATitle|lock_status%3ANo|line%3A2

Is NEGG going to be a 2025 Meme stock? Don’t know. At some point, I will take some gains. If I take gains on some of the shares, then I won’t feel bad if NEGG shares suddenly plunge

08/14

Reporting and realizations.

Bunch of holdings reported yesterday and today, including CRWV (08/13), and GLNG, COHR, TRMD (all 08/14). At least with COHR, it was less about Q2 results, and more about outlook. Shares got punished down over 25% at one point. Took the opportunity to add more shares on the whack. CRWV got whacked, and that took down CORZ. [Edit: My “ownership” in CRWV is an indirect route - not even complete at this time, via owning CORZ shares. That deal might eventually not transpire]

The opportunity to monetize came along and I took some NEGG off the table - cannot complain about a triple-digit gain in a month. As mentioned yesterday, a great monetization of a risky position is a great development. Added more HIMS in taxable ac. Have to parse thru GLNG and TRMD results soon, and peek at AMAT too.

Have not perused AMAT results yet. But, I did hear that the company had a weak qtr.

It was a YieldMax payday, so a bunch of income flowed in - YMAG, YMAX and NVDY all paid today.

NEGG plunged more than 20% - nuff said. Recent posts in this thread make my stance clear.

08/18 - 08/22

No transactions. While that seems strange, maybe it is a testament to the port ideas that there were no extreme developments to the port performance. Actually, there were a bunch of positive developments

  • Nudging higher: AMAT, INSW, GLNG, ENTG, BWLP, LULU, FLNG
  • Slightly lower: TGT (with new CEO), ZIM (Meh results and div)
  • That tricky one, NEGG: Up-and-down

Have not parsed FLNG results. Not sure I will find additional data in the transcript - maybe a point on the LNG tanker market

08/25

After the uneventful, no-trade week prior, I decided to consider some trades

  • HIMS nibble taxable ac
  • ZIM disappointed with last week’s results and a low Q2 div. Still, a chance to lower my cost basis (taxable ac)
  • HIMS nibble (Roth ac)
  • The NEGG pull-back was inviting. Thought more about it … Nope, not today.

08/26 - 08/29

A few more trades the remainder of this week

  • Monetized some VERI in Roth ac
  • Monetized PLTR in taxable ac
  • Trimmed more NEGG - still nice gain, over 150%
  • Monetized VSH in Roth ac

Among big holdings - NVDA reported this week. Expectations were high. As shares had risen prior to results, I did think price was already built in, and company would have to really blow away expectations to move higher. Meme stock NEGG now really pulling back. FRO - slightly positive numbers for Q2 2025. Tech idea on my watchlist, MRVL, took a dive - good nibble idea
