Apparently the Russian central bank is pumping money into the banking system to compensate for the large amounts of withdrawals as Russian move into cash:
This could develop into a full scale bank run. If the banking system freezes withdrawals then this will cause further problems as electronic banking is restricted due to the internet not working much of the time. It’s not just the banks that are affected:
