Russia - life goes on

I’ve just come across a video that centres around a Russian supermarket. Pleanty of stock and prices cheaper than here in the UK. The commentator is an Englishman who lives in Moscow - fascinating city and the underground has to be seen to be believed!

He makes the point that when Western companies left they were often sold to managers for knockdown prices and this represented a transfer of wealth from The West to Russia.

Of course, it could just be Russian propaganda :slightly_smiling_face:

Considering that journalists who don’t say what the regime wants to hear are tossed in prison, so they can’t issue any more non-conforming speech, your concern is a possibility.

Would a Brit cozy up to a repressive dictatorship, against the UK?

He wasn’t a journalist though.

He might not be working for a large news organization, but he is reporting about what he’s seeing. And that makes him a journalist in my book.

Is there a second commentator? This one is not English judging by his accent.

He’s a propagandist.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

If nothing else this highlights the problem of getting any reliable information about what is going on in Russia today!
