A step in the right direction. But do they have child care capacity for all those children?
And what do economists think of this? If supply is limited and govt subsidies become readily available, don’t you expect costs to increase? Will capacity increase to meet demand? This is traditionally a low pay occupation. Will they be able to attract enough people to meet demand?
The best solution is perhaps to have school districts offer childcare. Then program can be supported by tax payers, and better salary and benefits become possible.
