From an Amazon email:
But when I click on “View order” it takes me, not to my order, but to this “help” page about privacy:
WTH? So someone doesn’t read my email and thereby determine what I bought? All in the name of privacy? But that makes no sense because if I click on “Track package” instead, I can then click on the specific order number and see my item.
It isn’t unusual for companies to change policies and try to show them to you so that you can’t say But you never told me. Once they show it to you once they figure that’s enough, so when you went in again, via track package, I’m guessing they had already marked you as having seen it.
Sure , but there was nothing in the privacy notice that said anything about viewing order details, and there was no apparent way to click past it. Plus, it keep showing up. And it’s still appearing NOW despite showing it having been last updated on June 30.
Even stupider is that there’s a “survey” at the bottom asking if the information shown was helpful. You can select “No” and click on one of three reasons, but doing so also doesn’t eliminate the showing of the useless info later.
Let’s face it, Amazon screwed this up.
And something new today upon clicking “View order” from a different order:
No way to “click past it” and continue and no way to prevent it showing up again.
