Superfund Site now a National Macroeconomic Treasure?

Early in my MBA studies we had a business case where a chemical plant operator turned out a large run of very brown, off-spec product.

One of the marketing guys got the idea to brand it as “The Premium Blend” at double the price and saved the day.

I’m waiting for some genius chemical engineer to figure out how to use the radioactive waste from nuclear reactors. Surely it generates heat? Can the radioactivity be used for a useful process?

At Zeno, we believe that energy should not limit where we can go or what we can achieve. That’s why we build nuclear batteries that deliver sustainable power for years without sunlight, refueling, or maintenance. Our technology harnesses the heat from decaying radioisotopes and converts it into electricity to power the missions that matter most.

Yay! I wish them the greatest success. Thanks, @Hawkwin . Nice to see good news.

Of course, this is a long way from commercialization let alone being able to employ all the nuclear waste from power plants. But it’s a first step. My graduate advisor used to say, “A 1% yield is infinitely better than a 0% yield.”
