Tesla Semi: California provides $200,000 subsidy for every truck registered in state

{{ Musk has described the Semi’s economics as a straightforward case. “The Semi is a TCO no-brainer,” he said, noting the total cost of ownership is “much, much cheaper than any other transportation you could have.” At under $300,000, the truck costs roughly double a comparable diesel, but California’s $200,000 per vehicle subsidy has driven over 1,000 state orders alone. }}

That subsidy should sell a lot of trucks.

And of course, with the spike in diesel fuel prices, the Israel-Iran War is selling a lot of EVs

I don’t spend as much windshield time now that I’ve been retired since ‘02, but I am seeing more of the odd Tesla Semi’s on the highway, hard to miss, actually, so maybe that subsidy is having an effect…. But I see a lot of the cars, too, one the other day had a nice Ford emblem on the rear hatch.. :slight_smile: Northern California, Sonoma, Marin, Napa counties…
