I built my last house in 2002/03. I used pex throughout. I installed a manibloc for distribution. For those that don’t know what that is it’s like a breaker box for water. The hot/cold lines feed a block that has individual shut offs for each fixture. The advantage is that there are no hidden connections. And there isn’t any pressure drop or temperature change when multiple fixtures are turned on.
