I say rejoice! Wars are always started by old people who have no intention of breaking a nail fighting them, so you-know-who is left holding the bag for it. And the rifle. There’s no point in the war starters fighting their own war because there would be no enjoying the victory. And this is not like some have the bodies and some don’t. Everybody’s a victim of their own success. i.e. Falling fertility rates. And all these really groovy weapons we’ve been developing since Vietnam have been for one reason only. NO NEED for lots of people! Fewer soldiers… Fewer wounded/dead. No need for a draft. Keep it nice and clean for the TV, and fewer disgruntled parents. It seems to be working out.
Fewer & “weaker” wars. Falling birth rates. Long term survival and prosperity for the planet. And by that I mean the humans ON the planet. One fly in the jello would be letting some group rise to power solely on the basis of numbers and their otherwise lack of respect for, and talent regarding general human progress. But that’s another dissertation
