This is ONLY to stop a tax hike.
The war is mentioned as an offset? Really we are funding Ukraine to a similar degree. Why is the press screwing around? Or why be a reporter if you do not know that much?

From the link:
“About half of enrollees will either see a premium increase of less than $10 or a premium decrease, and most will have plans available at $10 or less”

By 2027 he’s a short timer. Let the next guy deal with it.
People seem to think reporters are smart in all fields. I’ve worked with hundreds over 40 years and the reality is that they are above average, but not much above average. And they are tasked with “knowing” about “airplane crashes” one day and “long bond interest rates” the next, and tomorrow it will be about “Chinese dumping” in the morning and “the Spanish Prime Minister” in the afternoon.
It’s not until you get to really big, storied newsrooms that reporters get to specialize and learn a lot about an individual topic. They do the best they can given the constraints of the job, but often that’s not very good. It’s like a mechanic: work with cars over 20 years and you’re Mona Lisa Vito. Work on cars for a week, then oil pipelines for a week, then airliners for a week, and you’re Ferris Bueller with a wrench.
When I need a surgery (more than a few times) I choose a surgeon who specializes in only that surgery (e.g. heart valve replacement) not a general surgeon who takes out an appendix one week and repairs a torn knee meniscus the next.

Surgeons are extremely specialized. At the Orthopedic surgery place that I’ve used over the last few years, they have 6 or 7 docs, each specializing in different body parts. The shoulder guy repaired my shoulder in 2022, The wrist guy treated my wrist during recovery from the shoulder surgery. And now the hip guy is treating my bursitis. I had mistakenly thought I was going to need a hip replacement but learned that exterior hip pain usually indicates something else (like inflammation of a bursa sac), while interior (crotch area) hip pain usually indicates pelvis bone issues and potential hip replacement.
Don’t know how you got there with my statements.
I have problems with how uninformative reporters are. Then there is the constant motivation to maintain the audience at any cost.
It has been since 2022 the Ukrainian war and 2023 Gaza. By now you’d think war, budget, or admin corrosondents would know how much is being spent on Ukraine in comparison with Gaza. Gaza is a budget issue and Ukraine is not, so it seems.
There is a political bias that is non stop. Ducking issues is a big problem.
You notice I can get through the above without mentioning taxes? Reporters seem to do that for decades without getting honest even on our side of the coin.
