The U.S. nickel coin is 25% nickel and 75% copper.

If the price of nickel rises enough, the government may decide to take the nickel out, the way they took copper out of the penny and silver out of the dime and quarter.

You forgot to add the value of the copper. According to this Barron’s article, the melt value of a nickel is $0.16.

I think we are a long way from a plastic nickel like the sales tax mills from the World War II era. But a zinc nickel coin plated with nickel might be likely.

Listen I was wrong last week about when to sell into a top for oil and gas. But only if you must insist on a tippy top.

The Russians can ship crude, gasoline and NG. There are takers. This will be phased out but only as new supplies come on line. The crisis is passing. The premiums will disappear.

You can stack all the 1 dimensional commodities charts you need, but supply and demand charts are nested in many other charts especially the money supply and interest rates charts have a bearing.
