Tired of flagged posts?

Not really mysterious. Posts are flagged by users. In flagging, the user specifies a reason. The post is then greyed out until reviewed. At some point, an administrator reviews it. On holidays, this can be a while. The administrator either clears the flag or finalizes it. The original poster is notified of the flag and is given the opportunity to edit. From what I have seen, it mostly makes sense except that sometimes the admin has not apparently read the whole thread and thus misses context. E.g., if a thread gets personal, one personā€™s posts can get flagged and the admin might not notice that large chunks of the thread should actually get zapped. Sometimes, though, the admin will notice, e.g., that a thread has gone political, and will zap a bunch and/or close the thread.

Letā€™s try that out. I will flag a post and see if it goes grey.

Nope it didnā€™t go grey. LOL Just to show what I did I flagged both Tamhas post and Wendyā€™s post and neither went grey.

I doubt one person can make a post go grey. If they could, then anyone with a gripe against a certain poster could simply grey out all their posts!

That is obviously the case. It could be that only certain people are able to flag a post also.

Iā€™m pretty sure that anyone can flag a post. You were able to, I am able to (I just checked, never tried it before). I am also pretty sure that a single person canā€™t grey out a post (as you just tried to do). Maybe only a moderator can grey out a post?

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. Yes anyone can flag a post but maybe only certain people can flag them and cause them to go grey.

What I thought you were saying is that a lot of people would have to flag them to make them go gray.

Yes, it is possible that if N people flag a post, it goes grey. And remains grey until a moderator reviews it and either approves it or keeps it grey. Itā€™s also possible that a moderator on their own can grey out a post (this is very likely).

That could be but could a moderator remove a post? Maybe the moderator grays them out, giving the offender a chance to change them, and if they are not changed(edited) after a length of time they are removed? I donā€™t think a moderator can shut a string down because that only seems to be reserved for Fool employees.

Makes sense!

This just in, Facebook users around the globe celebrate the removal of restrictions on Facebookā€¦

By claiming Zuckerberg killed Epstein, had a rat (private parts) transplant, and is a convicted pedo.

Here is to tolerance!
