Multiple reasons to be pulling my remaining hair out!
Yesterday I spent the day making a digital copy of an audio tape, from an incident back in '81. Id bought a mini plug to USBa to get from a tape player to the Mac, weak, that turned out to be wrong as it was never seen by my Mac Mini, as it was output to USB.. eventually I found an iMic interface from ages ago that GarageBand liked, and was able to record both sides, an hour on one, a half hour on the other.. Old tech, but still viable.. next up is how to improve, edit that audio, GarageBand is not friendly, to me at least, so am still looking for other options…Saved them as both .band & MP3 files for now… They were taped as just a tape deck setting near one subject, not the others so I want to raise the distant voices up better… (The Griffin iMic USB audio interface lets you connect microphones and sound inputs to your Mac or PC, No longer made.)
Next up, this morning I found my TM’s, Time Machine, 2 Tb Seagate HD has died, no warning, just gone…Nothing sees it, just DOA, it seems.. Ordered a replacement… Odd there was no warning or errors, just gone!
Oh, in better news, I did finally upgrade DW’s iMac to the current Tahoe last night, it went well, no issues!
