Tracking Metrics

There are a few metrics that I would like to track but seem scattered or inconsistently reported

  1. Net Promoter Score: I can only find them in individual company reports…but is there a third party that verifies these?

  2. Dollar Retention Rate: I’m guessing this is also company by company reported.

Thanks I’m advanve for any resources.

Hey JAFbrblev,

You can learn more about NPS here:

As for Dollar Retention Rates, each company has their own variation/formula for calculating. Within every Earnings release you will find the formula used to figure out the metric.

Best,
Matt

I have yet to look through this in any depth, but someone posted it last week and it appears to basically be a document that summarizes how a whole bunch of different companies measure their dollar-based retention rates.

Seems to be a potentially a very nice resource. I forget who posted the link first.
Pivotal’s >150% dollar-based retention rate is the highest I have seen so far for any company, but their total revenue rate does seem to have a bit of a disconnect from that rate due to the size of their legacy business compared to their subscription portion of their business. Earlier today, I was actually contemplating building a revenue model for Pivotal, to possibly also then use to feed into a hypothetical future cash flows model to take a look at Pivotal on an EV/CF basis (forward-looking). I don’t know that I will manage to have time for that tonight, however.

not committing to completing a Pivotal revenue model, and would be happy to see that someone else on the board beat me to it
Guessing Bear wouldn’t bother since he has sold his Pivotal stake and doesn’t plan to post on it much more…maybe I could goad Tinker into it
