How much does it cost to deport someone under the current for-profit, private contractor regime, $20,000, $100,000? Like if the payment doesn’t come thru, how does a “self-deported” immigrant sue, given they can’t be in the US? Or for that matter, how many are likely to say “Hey, I’m an illegal immigrant, I live at 234 Broad Street, and I’m just wondering how I go about applying for this swell program” without a van full of goons showing up in the middle of the night a few hours later. ---
