This article is behind a paywall for me, but the headline is enough to discuss. I heard about this while listening to CNBC Asia this evening and oil went down a bit on the news.
I think this is what Trump is going to have to do to end this war. I imagine that Iran will be willing to accept payment from the U.S. and its allies in exchange for passage through Hormuz.

Mish must have a WSJ subscription. Anyway here is a link with parts of the WSJ article:
from WSJ:
In recent days, Trump and his aides assessed that a mission to pry open the chokepoint would push the conflict beyond his timeline of four to six weeks. He decided that the U.S. should achieve its main goals of hobbling Iran’s navy and its missile stocks and wind down current hostilities while pressuring Tehran diplomatically to resume the free flow of trade. If that fails, Washington would press allies in Europe and the Gulf to take the lead on reopening the strait, the officials said.
Mish shows that Rubio’s & the President’s talking points are different. No coordination in the administration. Sad but not surprising.

Perhaps the president realizes that it will be cheaper to pay for passage than the cost in live’s and military equipment to forcibly open the strait. And the 2026 Congressional elections keep moving closer.
