Twinkles Toes

As I was leaving the gym last week, a little girl almost bumped into me on the sidewalk. It was about 7 pm and already dark outside so I couldn’t help but notice the flashing lights on the little girl’s shoes. The little girl, maybe 5 years old, had been looking down at her feet as she skipped along the sidewalk. As her mother walked up, I asked “Are those Twinkle Toes? Sketchers?”. She answered, “Yes.” Then I asked her how she liked them. She answered, “They’re a bit of a problem. She LOVES them, and every night my husband and I have to battle to get them off her feet. Her last pair went higher up on her ankles so they’re very difficult to get off when she’s squirming in protest. The newer pair is easier but she likes the old ones better.”
