(Like it of not, we are getting more and more involved in this proxy war.)
US intelligence helped Ukraine track and sink Russian flagship Moskva with two Neptune missiles
On Thursday an American official said that the US shared intelligence about the location of the Russian missile cruiser Moskva with Ukraine
The official said that the US did not know Ukraine planned on striking the Moskva- a huge Soviet-era missile cruiser- and was not involved in the decision
The intel was given to Ukraine to help them defend themselves from attacks from Russia
The disclosure of U.S. support in the Moskva strike comes as the White House is under pressure from Republicans to do more to support Ukraineâs resistance
As the conflict between the countries continues, the Biden administration has ramped up intelligence sharing with Ukraine alongside the shipment of arms
Why would anyone think that we are spending billions to supply them with weapons but for some reason are not telling them where they can find targets?!?
âOur servicemen are well aware that the United States, the United Kingdom and NATO in general are providing intelligence and information about other parameters to the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a permanent basis. This is well known and, of course, together with the arms supply to Ukraine by the same countries and the alliance, all of those actions are not helping rapidly finalize the operation, although they cannot hinder the achievement of objectives set for the special military operation,â Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a press briefing Thursday.
âRapidly,â the instant gratification syndrome. You canât instantly defeat Russia but Ukraine with Western help surely is bleeding their military which is all to the good. Just today I was watching a video about destroying the Crimea bridge with newly arrived rockets. I hope they do it soon!
On Monday Putin will preside the celebration of not being able to rapidly defeat Ukraine. It seems that Putin is also infected with the instant gratification syndrome.
PucksFool: âHow do you say mission accomplished in Russian?â
Missiya vypolnena!
But Putin would be afraid to say that where protocol requires â the deck of an aircraft carrier. He cannot afford to lose another capital vessel for a lousy âspecial operationâ, let alone his life as Czar.
Considering that the Ukrainians have some pretty effective drones and a warship the size of a heavy cruiser is hard to hide, Iâm not sure there would need to be much in the way of US intel needed to slam a couple of missiles into the Moskova? The speed with which she sank can be easily explained with the usual terrible damage control training levels in the Russian navy.
