Cheaper is rarely better in matters of national defense.
@pauleckler - The US Navy capabilities in ship maintenance, repair and readiness is seriously lacking. That seems quite apparent. Wouldn’t that be good data to be restricted. Yet, the South Koreans (and others) are aware of this. And you are concerned the South Koreans would learn our secrets?
I think the Presidents plan to rebuild the US ship building industry is a good idea. We have the steel. We have the technology. We need the ability to be competitive. Trained work force is an essential part of the system.
