US to control fund flows?

Boggles the mind to think that one through -

House Republicans have included in President Donald Trump’s big priority bill a 5% excise tax on remittance transfers that would cover more than 40 million people, including green card holders and nonimmigrant visa holders, such as people on H-1B, H-2A and H-2B visas. U.S. citizens would be exempt.

Trump also recently announced that he is finalizing a presidential memorandum to “shut down remittances” sent by people in the U.S. illegally. White House and Treasury officials have not responded to requests for comment from The Associated Press on specifics of the presidential memorandum that Trump previewed in an April 25 Truth Social post and how it would work.

Another opportunity to tax low income people working to survive instead of taxing billionaires.

Remittances are already dinged by 20% junk fees, what’s another 5%?

Blog: Rethinking Remittances  - Americans for Financial Reform.

If we apply it to the total value of all remittances, it comes in at just under $4 billion. That’s well under how much money TFG has made in his first 120 days in office…bonkers.

It’s like stepping over dimes, then punching a homeless person in the face before snatching their pennies.

It takes a lot of money for a Billionaire to notice, Millions, at least, maybe tens of Millions. To hand $10M to a Billionaire requires taking from a lot of Proles.

It reminds me of all those hotel and visitor taxes that are applied today to out-of-town visitors.

It’s kinda like that.

If visitor taxes were used to subsidize property tax cuts for billionaires, it would be totally like that.
