Water Heater

Speaking of hard water, at least you have water wink.

The lost coast of California has building moratoriums as ground water has been exhausted and sea water is ‘seeping’ inland.

But that aside, the house we’ve owned for one year now is 2 ages. North half 1959 (pre-building code), south half 1989. Because the slab is cut into the hill, the lower half is surrounded on 3 sides with cinder block and concrete. So… each half has it’s own furnace and it’s own 40 gallon nat-gas water heater. I replaced the water heater on the ‘old’ half last month after it flooded the downstairs guest room.

My retired union plumber buddy and installed a whole house filter system, replacing the culligan unit that was in the 1959 garage.

Does anybody have any experience with this system? As it’s about a year old now, I suppose it’s time to replace the primary filter.
