Yes, that sector tariff was mentioned in the initial reporting. Some 25% of electronics imported to the US come from China. As said before, the objective of the tariffs is to generate revenue to cover another “JC” tax cut. The general tariffs on Chinese goods are so high, no-one will buy the stuff, so no revenue would be generated. If other producers are unable to fill the gap, or the USian “JCs” would be too troubled by cutting their golf game short, so they could shift their supply chain, then the prioirty of the tax cuts dictate the tariff on electronics be reduced to a “revenue” tariff, rather than a punitive tariff.

What a bunch of clowns. This is unbelievable. They change direction every time they change their diapers. I think Trump is getting dementia.

Or, maybe the entire program is nothing but a shakedown. Declare a “burdensome” tariff. Then his nibs waits for supplicants, with checks in hand. Then the tariffs are backed down. He does speak, with great satisfaction, of the numbers of entities coming to grovel before him.

It’s reassuring that at least the professionals have a chance to follow.

Interpretations of the multiple executive orders, social media posts, and customs alerts have some U.S. companies and industry groups trying to figure out when the new tariffs will be deployed. “There has been some confusion on what President Trump has said in social media posts on when the tariff starts and what is written in the executive order,” said Jarred Varanelli, vice president of U.S. sales at logistics firm Savino Del Bene. “Social media posts are not law on the pause and increase in tariffs. With the constant changes to the regulations, all customs brokers in our industry have a difficult task ahead of them.” Despite President Donald Trump saying numerous times tariffs are in effect and being collected, U.S. shippers told CNBC they have not been charged higher tariff rates on their containers, some of which came in as late as Thursday.

That’s a generous word for it - a psyschologist would likely find stronger words.
Trump claimed: “I’m telling you, these countries are calling us up, kissing my a-ss. They are. They are dying to make a deal.” Mocking the pleas of foreign leaders, he parodied: “Please, please, sir, make a deal. I’ll do anything. I’ll do anything, sir!”

Listened? or Lousy? You have to be more precise.
Ok I think I understand what you are talking about. I took it as an “U” instead of an “A” because they didn’t want to offend. But I can see your point also.
