Pediatric hospice care still has it beat. At least social media is online and not in person and face to face.

Nursing homes as well.
When my grandmother was dying one of the nurses became very attached. She left nursing afterwards.
This is an individual matter. Some folks separate out easily. Some folks finding separating out impossible.
Many people have hard jobs.
I do not think society will ever solve how an individual does or does not separate out. But the pretend if we talk about it, it will get straightened out crowd knows all.
