I’m not sure you understand ‘services’. Door Dash is a service and some people are willing to pay for services. Being able to do arithmetic doesn’t enter the picture at all. Do you feel the need to demean others in order to feel better about yourself?

I whole heartedly agree with your premise. We shouldn’t bash people for paying for Door Dash, as long as they can pay for it. Unfortunately, Door Dash takes advantage of people through BNPL, merchants through their merchant financing, and drivers through Giggle Finance.

I have never used any of it. I get dress and go out to dinner or I cook. Cook for some people is a 4 letter word next to work in the dictionary.
Any parent should be drilling this home.

I wonder what separates the “go-getters” from the families with 37-year-olds on parental life support?
I still blame arithmetic and the absence of any scrutiny of the level of “skim, scam & fraud” in the economy.
It’s pretty easy to retire early merely by preventing yourself from getting screwed.

It might not be Door Dash.
I get that a good financial education is important, and there’s no doubt that some spend frivolously on Door Dash. But we shouldn’t suggest that limiting Door Dash solves all the problems.
It is a free country. Anyone can waste all the money on nonsense they want.

That’s true. Some waste their money on season tickets, some on expensive dinners, others on tickets to see their favorite bands live. We could all live very frugal lifestyles, without spending on niceties. The point is…if people can afford to spend money of luxuries, we shouldn’t question their judgement…unless they can’t afford it or aren’t paying their fair in taxes.

I am not at all concerned with others’ choices. Or how others are raised, but there are fair critiques of what others do.
I am only concerned with how I spend my money.
As far as investing in DoorDash, that market might change at any time.
