Let’s hope some significant tradable insights are coming over:
The website for the $Trump meme coin says its 220 biggest holders will be invited to a private gala dinner with the president on 22 May, describing it as the “most EXCLUSIVE INVITATION in the world.” According to crypto trading platform Coinbase, $Trump jumped by more than 70% after the announcement. But it remains well below the record high of more than $74 (£42.40) reached shortly after its launch in January.
The grift is crazy. I can’t believe people are not all over this. The Presidency is up for sale to the highest bidder. This is what Corruption looks like.
This morning I was watching Patrick Boyle’s video on the South Sea Bubble, which came out two months ago. In his dry way, he dropped this gem:
I’m sure this scale of corruption is shocking to modern day listeners – who can’t imagine a scenario where politicians are allocated tokens that could become valuable if they agreed to pump the price – but – things were different in eighteenth century England.
Oh wow, thank you. I had no idea this video had come out.
South Sea Bubble is one of the exemplary tales of the interrelationship of capitalism and corrupt government leading to madness. The French and Scottish versions, as destructive as they were, were mere blimps in comparison.
