WSJ auto critic Dan Neil buys a used Tesla Model 3 for his daughter

Unfortunately, he did so in January, before the full depth of the Musk dysfunction became evident, and overpaid.

{{ Objectively and empirically, the 2022-vintage Model 3 is a fantastic little car—rock solid, quick and strong, with a host of cabin conveniences and an infotainment system that only gets better with time, thanks to regular over-the-air updates.

It is also one of the safest cars on the road, with five-star crash ratings across the board, and a phalanx of advanced driver-assist systems including robust lane-keeping intervention, which I hope will keep my daughter out of the ditches until she gets the hang of driving. }}

You mean before political insanity broke out?

More and more I have to take into account pitchforks. Will they prevail? The charts seem to say that sanity will prevail.

What are stock charts? Reliable polls, people putting their money where their mouth is.

I suppose how you characterize it depends on how much you love fascism and WW2 salutes.

Did you ever ponder why your country rebuilt Germany, not fascist Germany but historic Germany and Japan, not Samurai Japan but historic Japan. Was the rebuilding a good idea?

It’s an interesting perspective. I wonder why you’re so oblivious to it now in the US?

The cognitive dissonance has been epic. In less than three months, Musk’s starring role in the administration has turned the progressive semiotics of the Tesla brand upside down. The car once chided for signaling virtue now suggests sympathy for the devil. “It’s like driving around a great big M*AGA hat,” said my wife, Tina.

LOL Let us know when you buy Intercst and what the price was. If you get it cheap enough I may get one to. Badge it with a VGK over the T.

It’s ideology. Some people can’t decipher right from wrong when they are on the wrong side of history. It’s like Democrats wanting tesla’s to burn. I understand why they are mad but it’s still wrong. So is a Na*zi salute…or two.

Not oblivious at all, I wonder why some Americans are so focused on it now? Emphasis on “some.”

As far as I’m concerned the accusation is an unfair political smear.

I bet this post gets flagged. I’m keeping a copy.

That is how it always happens. A good political smear, then the country gets taken over by an authoritarian regime. I have seen it happen through history. Interesting side note. Even Jews fought for the Germans in WW2. I wonder if they thought it was an unfair political smear.

Essential for a stable boy such as CSM.

LOLOL. Get it ‘wrapped’ with anti-Musk designs?
Sort of pre-emptively ‘vandalize’ it?

I found it interesting that if you get one of those $4,000 wrap jobs, Tesla discounts the value of your trade-in for the cost of removing it.
