Let us hope this feeling is transitory. And odds are it’s probably more than just a feeling, it’s probably based on people’s real life situations.

The Covid-related expanded Child Tax Credit made significant payments to families with children in 2021 that ended in 2022. Although those payments were temporary, it’s not surprising that families are feeling as though they are falling behind, even though real disposable income (inflation-adjusted) is not lower than 2019.

Seeing prices rise in the stores is making everyone feel poorer.
