Putting in a good word for Uncle Miltie. (Non-drinker here) Even Friedman always, always caveated his fetishized exhortations of markets and capitalism with the overarching need for “competition.” He almost always ended his statements “WHEN you have competition” or “IF you have competition.” I notice these tidbits never get brought up when money is involved. Then it’s just: “private property”, DE-regulation" and misapplication of “marketplace.”
