I often shared space (eating club breakfast room)(waaay after breakfast) with a guy at Harvard who would have been beaten at chess, poker, backgammon, and the art of asking insightful questions by most 12 year olds. I watched for years as he plopped from BofD to BofD of major corporations. He died of drunk driving.
