Another crooked auditor

Not the size of Arthur Anderson, but another hint that the statements that Management hands us may not be worth a hoot. How does an auditor keep a corporate client? Tell the corporate client what it wants to hear?

The auditing firm for (some companies) and the auditor’s owner were charged with “massive fraud” by the Securities and Exchange Commission for work that affected more than 1,500 SEC filings, the federal regulator announced Friday.

The auditor, BF Borgers CPA and its owner Benjamin Borgers have agreed to be permanently suspended from practicing as accountants before the SEC, and also agreed to pay a combined $14 million in civil penalties, the SEC said.
