Apple removes cloud data protection feature in UK

What does this mean? Did Apple simply remove the encrypted feature as a way to avoid having to provide a back door to their encrypted cloud service? …Answering my own question: I guess this does comply with the UK order though it might not be what the UK was expecting or hoping for.

There are huge issues of jurisdiction, in addition to privacy rights:

Earlier this month, it was reported that security officials in the U.K. demanded that Apple create a so-called ‘back door’ that would enable them to retrieve all the content any Apple user globally has uploaded to the cloud.

“All the content?”

“Any Apple user?”

“Globally?”
