Many will. Shuttering NIOSH is a very big deal. There are too many impacts to name. For one, NIOSH research and data informs Safety Data Sheets for chemical exposure limits. This research isn’t a one-and-done thing, it’s constantly revisited and updated to improve workers’ safety and health.
One thing that must come out of our current debacle - better education of the masses as to what our government does for us. Civics! The seeds of our blighted crop were planted decades ago. The turn around will take longer.
It used to be tossed around as a joke, but we are truly experiencing an Idiocracy in the US.

So who is taking bets on OSHA being entirely eliminated? Then the “JCs” can kill and maim Proles at the rate they did 100 years ago, when Shiny-land was “great”.

TPTB may think that labour costs must be adjusted to compete internationally so that the trade deficit can be lowered. Didn’t TIG say some sacrifices had to be made?

Workers feel very betrayed but no one is reporting that. Why would anyone call themselves a reporter?
Things are not reported, when the reporter fears “retribution”, like being denied access to regime press briefings, or their employer’s broadcast license being revoked.

During term 1, many safety and health professionals expected OSHA would be kneecapped. To some extent, it was -
TFG taking OSHA out Old Yeller style should not be surprising. When asked about it, he’ll say “I don’t know, ask the Labor Secretary”.
Some large companies with the resources and moral commitment will continue to do the right thing…many will not.
There are other incentives to protecting workers, like worker’s compensation (WC) insurance premiums. Since insurance companies make $$$$, they probably won’t muck around with it.

How the workers are doing is a non issue. It is a non thought. Worker positions and emotions are not for polling. They are not for considering. The educated class does not need to know because assuming pay for very little work is the educated person’s call to duty. Most BS and BA degrees are minor work. They are a ticket to get a step up in this world. The ticket part means not giving a damn about other things.
