I will take that job. I come from a very large family and have experience in dealing with Feuds with brothers from another mother.

I chuckled. I’ve used that line before. It’s amazing, and true.
I nominate
{*The Palestinian community’s roots run deep in Chile, with immigration starting in the late 19th century when Christians fled the faltering Ottoman Empire.
Chile is now estimated to have more than half a million Palestinians, many third, fourth or even fifth generation,*}
Surely 10 or 20k of this 500k Gazans/Pals would be willing to repatriate?
Go back to their ancestral homeland?
Stipulate that the returning governors be Christian, and perhaps Israel would accept the Christian Pals governing Gaza?

I know, I know. I do not care, I do not care.
Have you noticed that is an indoctrination based on scapegoating? Things could be different. Things could be less costly for the US as well. I think Arab Americans have a responsibility to effect change in the dictatorships.
Just spouting some crazy indoctrination is harmful to our republic.
You know I am for defunding Ukraine…just because…completely built on principle. I feel so bad for the Russians in the military. Those boys should not have a single hair harmed on their little heads. Stop whatever you are doing and support Russia.
Make more sense to you?
The Greater Syrian forces are Russian-backed. It is not like some day a Greater Syria as a whole nation would meter out more justice. Quite the opposite.
BTW where were you during the Syrian Civil War? Rooting for our Russia? Just curious.
Makes what the Israelis are doing a minor moment in time.
I don’t think you can realistically get UN peacekeepers to willingly go into Gaza unless there was some form of mass disarmament - and that doesn’t seem very likely. Even with such, I can’t imagine any non-Muslim or any Shia Muslim country would willingly put their troops in that environment.
Those UN troops would be too tempting a target.
I hope I am wrong.
UNIFIL in Lebanon has proved quite ineffective in preventing Hezbollah from stockpiling many tens of thousands of rockets after 2006 and even using them
“United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, adopted at the end of the 2006 Lebanon War, called for a full cessation of hostilities between Lebanon and Israel and for the Lebanese government to take full control of its territory, and it authorized the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon [UNIFIL] “to ensure that its area of operations is not utilized for hostile activities of any kind”. Nevertheless, since the war, there have been multiple rocket attacks on Israel from Lebanon. The Lebanese government has not claimed responsibility for any of the attacks, and has disavowed some of them. As of 2023, there were an estimated 130,000 rockets in southern Lebanon near Israel’s border , most under the control of Hezbollah.”

Starting with just that first point, sadly I don’t think anyone would step up to do it. There’s no multi-national group of Arab countries that wants to be in charge of Gaza, or to be seen cooperating with or facilitating Israel resolving this situation. Sure, they have little love for Hamas as an organization (especially Egypt) - but none of them want ownership of the mess. It’s a thankless, no-win, and fraught job - a poisoned chalice, and the countries in the region would much rather see Israel get stuck with it than themselves. I don’t think the UN is going to volunteer either. The idea was mooted by Blinken more than a week ago, but there didn’t seem to be any takers.
We old phatz remember when Israel invaded southern Lebanon, up to the burbs of Beirut, some forty years ago. The Israeli forces then stood aside, and let a Christian militia move into a Pal neighborhood, and kill everyone in sight.
I doubt any Pal would want, or accept, Christian overlords.
My god - why would they want to do that?
Post-invasion Gaza is going to be terrible. I mean, leave aside that it will be physically terrible to live there - the task of trying to build any kind of civil society is going to be a nightmare.
The “governors” of Gaza will have the main task of rebuilding the civil institutions of the area. If Israel is successful in rooting out Hamas, all of the government infrastructure will be vacant at the upper levels and much of the lower levels. But there isn’t anyone “waiting in the wings” in Gaza to step into power if Hamas is gone. Hamas slaughtered all their political opponents back in the day, and has repressed any potential rivals - so there’s no non-Hamas-affiliated group there to move in. The PA/Fatah might make a stab…but they’ve been out of there for close to two decades now, and that might not work.
And all the while, you’ve got folks working to make sure you fail. Hamas isn’t the only violent paramilitary group running around in the area - you’ve got Palestine Islamic Jihad, ISIS-Sinai, maybe even some PLFP folks. Iran and Hizbollah will be doing what they can to support whoever wants to push back against our Chilean returnees, to make sure the situation remains unstable and traumatic. And if Israel is unable to finish the job against Hamas, they’ll be there as well.
Leave Chile to go to Gaza? Seems unlikely…
Indeed! That’s why I put the .
Reuters says the Pal community in Chile don’t like Israel’s plan. And are protesting.
And Reuters implies the Chilean Pals are mostly Christian.
All I am saying is
Give Chilean Pals a chance!

A multi-national group of Arab countries will control Gaza and the West Bank with UN peacekeepers and UN oversight.
Dream on. This is a losing situation for the Palestinians. I do not care. This will not be a losing situation for the Israelis or the US dream on.
Giving Gaza over to the UN for peace? Based on what how many times Hamas launches massive attacks? Like the UN will stop that! Dream on.
