At the same time we, the users, have been propelling and supporting the use of petroleum. The only reason the oil companies are being sued instead of you and me is that they have deeper pockets.

Anybody suing would have to also include themselves–because they benefitted (directly and indirectly) from the use of petroleum products. So, case dismissed with prejudice.

You could have said the same thing about the Tobacco industry. But the reason they were sued is because they lied, just like the petroleum industry. You can’t have studies about climate change and then say they do not exist.
