The UK’s economy is not doing well (who is!) and capital controls are being mentioned more and more.
In March 2022 the IMF made two policy decisions relating to capital controls:
Nations can implement capital control measures pre-emptively.
Capital controls can now be implemented for national or international security.
Can’t see it happening but you never know!
