You will note BYD captured top 5 spots. Tesla trailing at #6.
The Chinese like high tech EVs that push the envelope. Many new offerings by Chinese EV manufacturers. And more are coming. Are Teslas not consider staid in China?
Interesting. When will Tesla add hybrids?
If you think they will ever add hybrids you haven’t been following them. They don’t have any gasoline engine tech. It would also tend to ruin the brand. Although some think that has already happened

OK, but they do have electric motors and batteries. Adding gas engines can be resolved various ways. Brand name problem can be resolved by using yet another brand name but selling through same distribution channels.
Customer preferences are changing. I think a well managed company would be able to adapt and address those changes.
Then you are thinking of a different company…
There are some cars, available, and planned, that have a gas engine, strictly to charge the batteries.
For several years, a meme has been around, of an EV being recharged, on the road, by a gas driven generator. EV advocates derided the meme as nonsense. Now such systems are being built into cars and called a feature?
You misunderstand the scale of the problem. Charging like in the picture takes ages for even a minor charge. The virtue of the hybrid is that it can go far enough on the battery to handle the commute for many people, but the ICE is there when one needs to go farther.
I have to disagree. Musk has done a good job planning this all out, building cars, selling them, and expanding production to keep up with demand.
I think you have to give him credit for making lots of progress. Virtually creating the EV industry. As competition increases and with a pending price war, can he continue to make the right choices? Time will tell. He does deserve much respect for progress to date.
Never!
