Suggesting that the US has to work harder today than say…during the Greatest Generation is bonkers.

I didn’t make the comparison between us and the silent gen.

Guys like Jensen and Musk and Cie, they are on top because no one is willing to work harder than they do, and yes they wish that more of their employees work harder. But it is hard to convince people here to work like the Chinese do. Rare are those who are willing to do the 996. They don’t have to. Yes sure the Chinese are not innovative (can you believe that?- not me). They just work hard. Do you think you can be innovative if you don’t work hard? Innovations is a weed. Inventions come from perspiration.

TSMC don’t think they can do what they do in Taiwan in the US. They don’t have the right people.

After a while, we will become like Europeans and have 3 months a year vacation.

Even in more totalitarian regimes, innovation flourishes during periods of increased secularism (Arab culture during Medieval times) and meritocracy (Song China dynasty).
