CoolCo going private?

I had noticed the bounce last week, but since I had no position, not put much thought into it. Well, I guess, this sounds like a plausible reason

Ofer backed resources initially helped turn CoolCo (CLCO) into a publicly traded company. For the first 18 months of CLCO’s existence, there was a decent dividend. That ended at the start of 2025. CLCO struggled when its first newbuild had to trade spot in a somewhat unusual Q4 2024. “Somewhat unusual” in that Q4 is usually a stronger quarter for LNG shipping.

CLCO has an LNG fleet mix of 9 TFDE & 4 MEGI vessels. Assume the vessels were treated alike, there’s about $110M in debt per vessel. I believe all the TFDE tankers are now each over 10-years-old. But, 5 of the 9 TFDE-powered vessels have or will get an upgrade that will make them more fuel efficient. An LNG newbuild costs in the ballpark of ~$250M.
