Christmas morning is over, the gifts have been unwrapped, but I just want to say that ever since Apple led the charge into micrometer perfectly exacted packaging everything is harder to unbox. It took me a good 10 minutes to open the box for the portable air compressor Mrs. Goofy gave me - I didn’t want to destroy the box in case I want to return it.
Likewise the heated back brace, although that wasn’t so much the precision cut of the box as the 14 tabs I had to undo before the box would open simply, like a clam shell, as boxes used to in an early day.
And don’t get me started on gift cards that come in a cardboard sleeve that you cannot get to without a pair of shears more aptly suited to cutting metal. You’re lucky if you don’t end up with 4 fingers and a chopped up gift card by the time it’s over.
And no, I am not doing “an old man” thing here, this is a genuine threat to society. I believe we should call out the National Guard or something.
