A talking head on the BBC news tonight said this isn’t an issue for the USian industry. DeepSeek simply created a better algorithm. The USian companies can do the same. If there are no barriers to entry, seems he is saying that AI has already become a commodity.

Yes. And the multi-hundred billions of dollars invested to date believing they were erecting some kind of moat, just vaporized. It’s the crypto of intellectual property.
