Yes it has, Wendy…6 months post op and still not quite back on track. Much slower to recover with this second lapiplasty. Of course, it was a bigger construction job, so there’s always that. It had gotten worse over the two years since the first, so the before and after change and stress on the ligaments and tendons is that much greater…and, as you know, those are the limiting factors when it comes to structural adaptation. I’m two years older…and that bit more impatient, I’ll wager…and I have a shrewd idea that as we get older, healing capacity drops exponentially.
The best time to have stuff like this done is when you’re young enough not to need it! Another example of my body not showing gratitude for the care it’s received. Too young to have worn stilleto heels and “winkle pickers” in my youth and old enough to know better now that style footwear is back in vogue.
