A few observations. My son lives in Salt lake City and works for a homebuilder. He works for a homebuilder. With the rise in rates home sales came to a complete halt for two weeks. But as of know things are back selling. No more bidding or mark=ups. Some incentives like rate buy downs. But homes are selling and margins are still fat.
He also went to a Ford dealer today. No new trucks on the lot for sale. If they did it would be marked up $20K+. If you want a Ford truck you need to order it and pay full MSRP. In the past they had over a 100 trucks on the lot. If you order a truck and decide not to take it when it arrives, the dealer will pay you to get it so they can sell it.
