It’s never been more readily apparent that Tesla is a car company run by a CEO who is bored with cars.
I’ve been seeing more & more of this story on different websites.
I would phrase it in a different way.
Elon Musk is driven by big challenges.
In fact this sentence was at the link:
It was painfully obvious from the call what Musk is not bored with: questions of autonomy, artificial intelligence, using the word “compute” as a noun, robotaxis, networked self-driving cars and humanoid robots like Optimus—which will be “more valuable than everything else combined” and in Tesla factories “doing useful tasks before the end of this year.” (Whenever Musk says “this year” or “next year,” it really means “sometime in the future, maybe.”)
Establish a viable EV manufacturer-DONE. He has little interest in a model 2 Tesla. Autonomous Robotaxi, now that a whole different kettle of fish for Musk.
Establish reusable rocket missiles. Space X-DONE.
Remake social media network with X-Kinda DONE. More tinkering needed.
Neurolink or a colony on Mars. Goals to be attained.
It has been suggested here that Musk needs a caretaker for the existing Tesla to polish & improve the existing models and perhaps bring out new models. A Tim Cook type of guy that Apple found to run the existing business.
