In the first application of its latest Digital Markets Act, the EU Commission is investigating the anti-competitive tactics of Apple, Meta and Alphabet, exposing them to potential fines of up to 10% of their global turnover if found guilty
‘The European Commission, the bloc’s executive arm, announced official probes on Monday into whether Apple and Google-owner Alphabet allow developers to “steer” users away from their app stores. It also said it would investigate whether Facebook-owner Meta gives enough choice to users over the use of personal data for advertising purposes.’
